Rafting


The population here comprises of different communities. Some are from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar and many others from the states of Kerala. Languages that are spoken here are Hindi, Konkani and Marathi.

Resort
It is most famous for the wildlife sanctuary where you can see Elephants, Tigers, Black Panthers, Sloth Bears, Jackals, Sambar, Spotted Deer, Barking Deer (Muntjac), Mouse Deer (Chevrotain), Langur, Bonnet Macaque, Slender Loris, Giant Squirrels, Flying Squirrels, Civets, Porcupines, Mongoose and some species of snakes.

Rafting
Watching animals on a jungle jeep safari is a one side of the picture, there is a lot more fun in the adventure activities that includes Kayaking, Rappelling, White Water Rafting, Jungle Trekking, Mountain Biking and Night Camping.

Bird watching is another very famous activity here because you will find a wide variety of birds and butterflies here.



Dandeli also offers good sightseeing tours for its tourist to enjoy-

Kavala caves: These limestone caves are dedicated to lord Shiva. Almost 25 Kms away from Dandeli, to reach here one has to trek through the dense forest of Dandeli.

Syntheri rocks: Over 300ft tall granite rocks, situated inside the Dandeli wildlife sanctuary.

Molangi: It is an excellent place for camps situated within the bamboo thickets.

Ulavi Channa Basaveshwar Temple: A temple located 50 kms away from Dandeli, famous for Vachanachaluvi of 12 century.
